Auditions

Auditioning for the Bradley Central High School Choral Department is not as difficult as the term “audition” implies. The audition is a forum to get acquainted with you, hear your voice, and determine your placement in the program.

AUDITION PROCESS:

  • Turn in audition form.
  • Your photo will be taken.
  • Sing a song of your choice. (Songs you choose need not be complicated---the judge(s) want to hear you sing something you enjoy and that demonstrates your voice. Your song could be from a musical, a hymn, a folk song, something from a movie, a pop song, etc.)
  • Sing the first verse of My Country Tis of Thee unaccompanied in a key that is appropriate for your voice part.
  • Pitch matching (notes will be played on the piano and you will be asked to sing back what was played)
  • Sing a one octave major scale on solfege, up and down, unaccompanied.

THINGS TO BRING TO YOUR AUDITION:

  1. A copy of your latest report card.
  2. Audition Form
  3. Accompaniment Tape/CD, sheet music (if needed for your selection)

AUDITION APPOINTMENTS:

Sign-up sheets for auditions times are located on the wall outside the choir room doors or you may sign-up at the choir table during lunch.

VERY IMPORTANT:

If for some reason you are unable to make your appointment, please come by the choir room for another time and to remove your name from the assigned time slot.
