About the BCHS FBLA
Think FBLA is just a bunch of boring business? Here are
some fun things that FBLA members have acomplished because of FBLA:
The BCHS FBLA has done alot to help the planet. During the 2006-2007
school year FBLA members would take recycled boxes and paper to
the Recycling Center in Cleveland. Now with the help of Rock Tenn,
FFA, and Earth Club, BCHS now has a Recyling dumpster and a cardboard
dumpster to help keep the planet clean.
During Valentine's Day in 2008, FBLA sold heart valentines for
the American Heart Association. All proceeds went to the AMA for
charity.
In 2007 FBLA State Competition was held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
FBLA members got to spend three days exploring Gatlinburg and also
got to attend Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. Anahi Castillo won
fifth place in the Accounting Competiton and Anna Sharpton won second
in Digital Video Production.
Also in 2007, the National FBLA Competition was
in Chicago, Illinois. Anna Sharpton got to spend
four days exploring the windy city. She did not place in the National
competition, but she is still glad she went. While she was there,
she went to the Sears Tower, and also got to see
the Broadway play Wicked in the Broadway Chicago branch.
FBLA members in the 2007-2008 school year made history. They attended
the first ever FBLA Regional Competition. Also,
everyone that went and participated placed in the top ten of the
competitiors. They will attend state competition in April, located
in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
