Orientation

It can be a very scary thing to go from a small campus surrounded only by people that are the same age and grade as you to a large campus with people who are years older than you and could be grades higher than you.
That is why a few weeks before school begins Link Crew sets up Freshmen Orientation.

Freshmen Orientation is an event that takes place in order to introduce Freshmen to High School.  They play fun activities and the Link Leaders teach them a little bit about what High School is like.  At Bradley Central High School, Orientation is an exciting event that is unlike any other.

First the Freshmen are taken into the gymnasium where they are greeted by Ms. Colon, one of the Link Crew Coordinators.  She then leads them in what you could call "get to know you activities".  This is where the Freshmen get to know the Link Leaders, the Sponsors, and each other.  after they have completed the get to know you activities, the Freshman are then spilt into groups and led around the campus so they can get to know what it's like and not get lost on there first day of school.  Once they've been taken around the school, the freshmen and Link Leaders (still in there small groups) go into one of the English classrooms around campus to talk.

In these rooms they talk about what's it like in High School and what to expect on their first day.  They also explain  to them that it's O.K. to be scared on the first day because everyone experiences that sense of fear and excitement when they first enter the doors of High School.  Although they may sound like they're just saying that just to make them feel better, but they really do mean it.  High School is a very scary experience, but some of the best moments in life come from High School and so in Orientation at Bradley Central High School, Link Crew shows the Freshmen that this statement is very true.
