Web design is nearly impossible without a good are arsenal of programs. To begin with you can use Notepad to write HTML code and then view it in the browser. But more commonly used is Microsoft FrontPage. It is a good program that is simple to use, quick to learn, and produces nice looking pages. In this course; however, you will try a new program called Macromedia Dreamweaver. It is more difficult to muster but has more options overall than FrontPage. If you can master Dreamweaver you should be able to design a stunning site.

Finally you will use Macromedia Fireworks to edit pictures and make graphics. It is also not as simple as programs like Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro. But you have to work with what you have.
